Tackle.io named one of 20 rising stars on the Forbes’ Cloud 100 List!

It is an exciting day for Tackle and more broadly for the Cloud Marketplace movement that is rapidly gaining momentum as a new way to drive revenue for B2B software companies. We could not be more excited to be named one of the 20 Rising Stars as a part of the Forbes 2020 Cloud 100 List!

If you’re not familiar with it, this is the definitive list of the top 100 private cloud companies globally, published by Forbes in partnership with Bessemer Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures. The 20 Rising Stars represent high-growth and category-leading cloud companies who have raised up to $25 million to date and are poised to join the Cloud 100 ranks. You can read more about it in our press release here.

Tackle’s mission is to make buying and selling software through the clouds easier and more efficient than doing business direct. We believe all software companies in the future will look to make Marketplaces a cornerstone of their go-to-market strategies. Our platform makes this future a reality today, enabling software companies to establish, operate, and scale Marketplace channels via AWS Marketplace, Google Cloud Platform Marketplace, or Azure Marketplace. These Marketplaces create seamless paths to budget and contracts with millions of buyers of cloud services.

In August, Tackle surveyed hundreds of Cloud Marketplace sellers and buyers to find out where B2B Marketplaces are now and where they are headed. A resounding 70% of respondents said they would be putting more investment into Marketplaces to compliment their go-to-market strategy.

The top 3 reasons respondents stated for rapid expansion in Marketplaces are:

  1. Easy access to the cloud budget,
  2. Ability to transact faster via the cloud provider contract
  3. Opportunity they see in co-selling with the cloud providers

We expect this percentage to continue to increase as procurement teams engage more actively in discussions about software purchasing consolidation through the Cloud Marketplaces. Check out the complete findings in the State of Cloud Marketplaces Report.

This award represents the hard work of the entire Tackle team and their continuous innovation on behalf of our customers. It’s exciting to see that 30% of the Top 20 Cloud 100 companies are Tackle customers. Companies like SnowflakeAuth0, GitlabSisense, and Tanium leverage Tackle to power their Marketplace businesses. We are proud to serve hundreds of software companies including the cloud leaders who see how Marketplaces offer a more efficient path to revenue. We look forward to supporting the acceleration of this pattern across the entire B2B software ecosystem.

If you’re not sure if you’re ready for Marketplace, we’re here to help. The Tackle team is always happy to hop on a Zoom to help guide you through initiating your Cloud Marketplace evolution!
