February Product Updates
Tackle built the software and processes to make it easy to sell your software in Cloud Marketplaces and leverage this channel to drive significant revenue. We’re continually innovating on our Cloud Marketplace Platform based on customer feedback to make it easier to manage your cloud software business.
In this month’s update, we’re excited to share some new Tackle features which include AWS Order Notifications, Custom Durations for AWS Private Offers, a Marketplace Insights refresh, and the What’s New Button. Let’s break them down!
AWS order notifications just got a whole lot simpler
Simple Notification Service (SNS) is critical for finance and operations teams to receive real-time notifications when someone buys through AWS Marketplace. If this isn’t setup properly it can take 48 hours to receive confirmation of a Marketplace purchase. Configuring real-time AWS order notifications from their SNS used to be a multi-step process. We’re always looking for ways to make things easier for our Marketplace sellers, so we automated the process to subscribe and test the notification queue.
Not only will this new process ensure you receive notifications for your existing listings, but it will also simplify and accelerate the creation of any future listings. Now you’ll know about all subscription and contract activity so you can engage the customer, provision software and infrastructure, and track revenue. You’ll receive real-time notifications regarding purchases, order modifications, and cancellations. It’s a win-win!
Extended custom durations are here for AWS Private Offers
Our Tackle Offers solution provides a streamlined way to send Private Offers, a clear view of the order’s movement through the stages, and the granular visibility that Sales, Finance, and Operations teams need.
Our latest enhancement to Private Offers is a result of AWS Marketplace’s new custom contract periods that make Private Offers even more flexible. We’ve added the same options in our platform so you can define Private Offer contract durations with greater flexibility with a time span from 1 to 60 months.
All contracts and agreements will be accurately reflected in the Tackle Cloud Marketplace Platform, buyer emails, and seller notifications.
Insights that are fresher than ever
Based on customer feedback, we’ve updated the Marketplace Insights user experience to highlight critical information more prominently, make it easier and faster to find information, and expose more data when exporting reports. Some of the improvements include:
- Fewer clicks: filters have been grouped together to get you the data you need faster
- Product listing filter: software companies with multiple product lines can now easily view contracts for a specified product
- Enhanced contracts: added a new card design to make the information clearer and more meaningful
- Data where you need it: high-level metrics were moved to a more prominent spot near the top right to highlight expiring contracts and tally revenue totals
Never miss an update
Our product and engineering team is always hard at work innovating on the Tackle Platform to help sellers generate revenue through the Cloud Marketplaces. We don’t want you to miss a single update, so we’ve added a ‘What’s New’ section to the dashboard to keep you up to date on new capabilities so you can take advantage of the latest and greatest Tackle functionality.
At a glance, you’ll find notifications about platform updates. If you want to dig deeper, you can ‘read more’ and dive into associated user guides and documentation for all the nitty-gritty details.
