Send it! Create and Manage AWS Marketplace
Private Offers Directly from Salesforce

Tackle’s Salesforce App lets you create all AWS Marketplace private offers—directly or with a channel partner—directly from Salesforce.

Eight years and well over $10B in processed Cloud Marketplace transactions ago, Tackle was founded with one goal in mind: to make it easy for software companies to leverage Cloud Marketplaces to drive new revenue streams and unlock growth. Understanding how alliance and sales teams work together and what tools they use daily has always been essential to making our end-to-end, streamlined Cloud GTM solution vision a reality. Direct customer feedback has led to enterprise-grade features like Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Multi-account Access Management, OpenID Connect (OIDC)/Single Sign-On, and an Isolated Salesforce Test Environment.

If you sell on the AWS Marketplace today, you may have multiple people or teams dedicated to creating and managing Marketplace private offers. For the teams that use Salesforce, they need to “context switch” from managing a deal in Salesforce to entering the corresponding data and fields in the AWS Marketplace Management Portal (AMMP). This bifurcated process is not only inefficient (since the data needs to be entered multiple times) but can also lead to errors and inefficiencies without a standardized workflow.

Today, we’re excited to announce that Tackle users can leverage our Salesforce App to create all AWS Marketplace private offers—directly or with a channel partner—right from Salesforce. No more context switching is required—just a streamlined, standardized workflow that is easy and repeatable for anyone involved with AWS Marketplace private offers.

Time is money. Entering data twice is twice as expensive.

…and entering the wrong data is even more so. Once you install Tackle’s Salesforce App in your Salesforce Organization, you can configure mappings to pre-fill private offers directly and automatically from the fields in your Salesforce opportunity. Tackle’s Field Mapper feature reduces the need for your teams to copy and paste data between platforms, which will obviously save a great deal of time. But more importantly, this feature empowers each user to work with private offers without needing to know AWS’ requirements by heart. Tackle users now have a repeatable and auditable process that can enable any Salesforce user to create AWS private offers without the need for often error-prone manual data entry.

Umm, I thought we had an agreement.

Because you can only have one agreement at a time with the same buyer account and listing, knowing whether there’s an existing agreement with a buyer is critical, time-sensitive information. Teams must understand if they need to choose an Agreement-Based Offer (ABO) versus a standard private offer. There are many reasons why this could be difficult and/or time-consuming to do. Often, users don’t have the proper access to AMMP. Tackle’s Salesforce App makes this easy for you by searching AWS for any active agreements at the very beginning of the private offer creation process (regardless of if the agreement was created through Tackle). If there’s an existing agreement, Tackle provides all the agreement details, such as the start and end dates and the number of remaining payments. You can decide if you’d like to amend the agreement by creating an agreement-based offer or, instead, create a future-dated agreement.

If you decide to amend the existing agreement, Tackle will show you the remaining payment so you can factor that into your offer.

You live in Salesforce, so why not work from home?

Once you’ve built your offer in Salesforce—either by using Tackle’s Field Mapper feature or manually—you can instantly create that offer in the AWS Marketplace using our new (if not cleverly named) “Create on Marketplace” button. You can also send it for review on the Tackle Cloud GTM Platform. Tackle will automatically notify your buyers that their private offer is ready for review and will provide instructions on completing their purchase. You can then track the buyer’s progress, receiving instant notification directly in Salesforce, just like you would in the Tackle Platform. No need to leave Salesforce! Tackle also sends email notifications to all contacts provided in the “Notify Users” list.

Hold on, I don’t want everyone in Salesforce doing this

If you’re not quite ready for your entire team to create offers directly on AWS Marketplace, that’s okay! Tackle makes it easy to control who has access to this functionality with both Salesforce permissions and Tackle’s Role-Based Access Control. As a reminder, both direct and partner offers are supported by Tackle’s Salesforce App.
