Tackle’s New Vice President
of Product Wants to Hear
from You

Hello Cloud Marketplace Community!

My name is Nathan Bobbin and I have recently joined Tackle to lead our product team. Over the course of my career running SaaS product teams and leading a Startup Accelerator, I have developed a true passion for establishing strong customer feedback loops. As an advisor to many early-stage tech companies, I focused on helping them understand the value and necessity of customer and market feedback. Without regular feedback, startups can’t survive, let alone grow. It is with this philosophy in mind that I am excited to share how my team will work with our customers to chart a course for Tackle’s future development.

I was struck by the passion and deep knowledge each of these customers displayed, both in their description of the value they are creating in their businesses and in the feedback they provided to the Tackle team.

Tackle is an exciting company. We’re early in the lifecycle of the Cloud Marketplaces, so there is a ton of growth and change in the space. It’s a challenge to lead a product team through this stage of a business and market. Much of what we are doing is being done for the first time. There’s no playbook available – no one to emulate – we’re forging a path.

One of my earliest interactions with Tackle was at the company’s sales kickoff where a panel of customers talked with our sales team about the way they use the Tackle platform, the value they receive, and the challenges they face in operationalizing sales through the Cloud Marketplaces. I was struck by the passion and deep knowledge each of these customers displayed, both in their description of the value they are creating in their businesses and in the feedback they provided to the Tackle team. This level of customer interaction is special and represents a significant asset for Tackle.

The challenges facing today’s digital businesses are complex and multi-faceted and I believe these challenges are amplified in a new, ever-evolving sales channel like the Cloud Marketplaces. In these environments, co-creation of products with customers is a critical success factor for business software. To fully honor and leverage the passion of our customers, my team wants to work directly with you to get input on our products from the earliest conceptual stages through to general release.

To this end I am excited to announce that we are rolling out two programs designed to harness feedback from our users and fuel our product development efforts:

Tackle Product Advisors

To fully honor and leverage the passion of our customers, my team wants to work directly with you to get input on our products from the earliest conceptual stages through to general release.

This group of users will have the opportunity to review early-stage product concepts well before they are released to the public. Our focus at this stage of product development is often to ensure we are solving the right problems for your business. As we progress with a concept, we will want feedback on the functionality our envisioned solution provides. As a Product Advisor you will:

  • Review problem descriptions / use cases, early prototypes, and other artifacts that will help Tackle to develop new product functionality.
  • Attend feedback sessions and share your thoughts on a product concept that is currently in the design stage. These 45-minute sessions are led by a Tackle Product Manager or Designer.

Not all concepts will make it to production software—failure is never the goal, but we’re bound to have the occasional bad idea and we want to know that as soon as possible so we can move on to the next great idea. Tackle will keep you posted on the progress of all of the product concepts that you are involved with.

Tackle Early Access Program

This program will target Tackle users that meet criteria for specific testing scenarios. A few times a year, this exclusive group of users will have the opportunity to get hands-on with newly developed, production-ready software and provide valuable feedback that will drive final tweaks and enhancements prior to general release. Before making significant new functionality generally available, we want to observe its use in the real world. The Early Access Program will provide a critical proving ground for such new functionality. Whenever possible we will try to include Product Advisors who consulted on earlier stages of a concept.

Collectively, these programs create feedback loops that will honor the insights of those knowledgeable business people who are using our products to power their cloud business from demand generation through revenue recognition.

If you are a Tackle customer and would like to take an active role in new feature development, I encourage you to participate in Tackle Product Advisors. Throw your hat in the ring by emailing us at feedback@tackle.io or log in to Tackle to sign up in the application.

Thank you for your partnership. I look forward to serving you and your business to maximize the potential of the Cloud Marketplaces.
